Introduction

Today, Tremec 6 speed transmissions can be found installed as standard equipment in sports cars, light duty utilities and sports utility vehicles. Tremec’s range of transmissions are developed to meet the requirements of today’s high performance vehicles with torque to match today’s most powerful engines. This makes Tremec suited for road racing or the street performance motor enthusiasts.

The TREMEC T56 Magnum supplied from TREMEC only fits a few vehicles. As a result, transmissions will need to be specially designed and built to suit specific models. MAL WOOD AUTOMOTIVE re-engineers the extension housing and shift position to fit exactly into most vehicles therefore delivering a superbly built transmission to suit your vehicle.

Tremec T56 6 Speed Transmission

Originally designed to tame the Dodge Viper and Cobra in 1992.  

The T56 6 Speed transmission is the choice for today’s high performance sports cars. The T56 is the Kingpin of Tremec’s high performance lineup.

The T56 Magnum takes state of the art OEM technology, and pairs it with the most popular features of the all-business TKO 5 speed. It does this while providing short, crisp shifts to deliver refinement where you want it, and strength where it counts.

The T56 Magnum is found as a standard fitment to the Corvette, Camaro, GTO, Firebird, Cadillac, Holden LS V8, Ford Falcon 6 & V8, Mustang, Cobra, Dodge RAM, Dodge Viper and the classic Aston Martin.

TREMEC TR – 6060 6 Speed

This transmission is the latest offering from Tremec, and is found in all new vehicles from 2008. 

This transmission features improved synchronisers, shifter mechanism, larger gears and a stronger one piece cluster.

This transmission also features a higher Torque rating over earlier T56 Transmissions.
