The TREMEC TXK is a 5 Speed RWD Manual Transmission designed specifically for the aftermarket. The TKX-XL Range is an engineered range offered exclusively to Mal Wood Automotive. Designed for vehicles with floor clearance issues around the extension housing, and also extends the shifter position further rearward. 

-Better Fitment-
TREMEC wanted to keep all the great features of the TKO but streamline the case. So, they transitioned from the old top-load design to an end-load design, similar to the bulletproof Magnum. This move made the new TKX significantly stronger and allows the case to be much smaller. It is a great fit for a multitude of applications where space is at a minimum with little to no floor pan modifications and offers 3 shifter locations for maximum flexibility. 

-Better Performance-
Another great advantage of the new design resulted in superior shift-ability with smooth shifts at high RPMs (up to 7500) through the use of multi-cone synchronizers and hybrid synchronizer rings as well as a 600 (yes, six hundred) lb.-ft. rating in torque capacity. At the same time, noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance are optimized with a gear layout to best control stress levels, while providing structural stiffness with a ribbed, 3-piece aluminum housing. Durability is further optimized with oversized gear widths made of ASTM 4615 steel, gaskets at all flanges to eliminate leaks, and caged needle bearings in all gear positions.

  • Includes stub shifter bolted to rear most location (reversible) that will fit most Hurst® shift levers.
